Event Trends Round Up – August 2019

Here is our round up of essential inspiration, news, happenings and interesting snippets for the event industry – event trends for August 2019.

We couldn’t choose between the best event ideas and inspiration to include so there are actually 11 ideas this month. Enjoy!

Digitally Printed Coffee Art

At Confex North the coffee art was a huge hit. Almost too good to drink!

The Barista have a “ripple making” machine which can personalise coffees with images and text. It takes 10 seconds and it enhances rather than disturbs the quality of the coffee. It works by receiving high-quality images and graphics sent via a phone or tablet, then ‘printing’ the design to the surface of the coffee.

Art Installation

Colours and bold clashing patterns are definitely an eye-catching way to demand attention, as this New York show house demonstrates. We would love to take inspiration from this to brighten up one of our event projects!

On 27th July we produced a passion project for planner and stationery lovers. Over 150 pen and paper enthusiasts headed to Upper Campfield Market, off Deansgate, in Manchester for a day of shopping, presentations, workshops and conversations. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and we are already searching for the perfect venue for the 2020 event!

To date, we have always focused on client-led projects but after celebrating 15 years in business we are introducing some of our own event ideas and consumer events to the mix. Another exciting annual event idea will launch next year and we hope that PlannerFest will grow year on year.

Lavender Field Fashion Show

We loved this fashion show, which took place in a Lavender Field in Provence! The audiovisual set up and staging was stripped back but the natural beauty of the backdrop worked well to show off the 65-look collection.

Adult Ball Pools

Looking to add a fun and energetic element to your event? Why not go for an adult ball pool and bring out the inner child in everyone. You could even choose balls to match your corporate or event branding!

Unique and Personalised Place Cards

For more intimate events offering personalised place cards will ensure a wonderful event keepsake and talking point. An artist designed a hand-drawn illustration for every guest at this soiree.

Fiat 500 Bar

This original Fiat 500 offers a very Instagrammable drink service point if you need something different for your next event!

Venue Spotlight: Hinterlands, Liverpool

We have been exploring some exciting and quirky venues over the recent weeks. One we really love is Hinterlands in Liverpool, perfectly placed in the Baltic Triangle. A blank canvas venue with lots of greenery and stepped seating, there is so much potential for creative events.

Exhibition Stand Idea: Slinkies

We loved this 80’s themed, neon exhibition stand from Qube Events! It certainly stood out on the show floor!

Axe Throwing

Looking for something different for your attendees during conference break times? How about some axe throwing?!

Just don’t forget the risk assessment.

Cup Cake Artistry

Are these cakes or flowers or works of art? Scrumptious.
